Thanks to the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) grant and Berrien County Broadband Internet Task Force, Pipestone Township residents will soon have access to high quality fiber optic broadband internet service. Midwest Energy and Communications (MEC) has a grant to provide affordable internet service to most areas within our Township (reference the map). The grant covers the cost of running fiber internet in front of your residence, there is an installation and a monthly utility cost that the resident is responsible to pay. MEC has stated that internet service will start being available 2nd quarter/2022 which is now so connect with them right away to purchase service that provides a minimum 100 Mbit download and upload speed. To see if you have access to this service, you can visit their website at www.teammidwest.com or call 800-492-5989. If MEC does not provide internet service in your area of Pipestone Township, contact Supervisor Davis (supervisor@pipestonetownship.org), he is working on obtaining additional grant money to connect unserved areas within the township. Here is additional information.
